Frequently Asked Questions

How do I update my firmware?

Firmware updates are delivered over the internet to your Snapshot units. The first step is connect them to a Wi-Fi AP (Access Point.) All of your Snapshot units must be powered on, and within range of a Wi-Fi AP for which you know the credentials. The only limitation is that our device works only in the 2.4 GHz band, so make sure your Wi-Fi AP is active in this band. Next, log on to your Snapshot server and go to the Settings page. Choose “Go to Local” and make sure to put in the correct credentials. The LEDs on both units should turn blue within a few seconds. Once again connect with your phone to snapshot.com, go to the Settings page and choose Upgrade Firmware. The upgrade will take two or three minutes and should reboot with the LEDs red. For more detailed instructions, see our user manual.

Many devices today require you to download and install an app to connect to their device. This takes time and clutters your phone or pad. Instead of a new app, SnapShot uses an app that everyone already has: the internet browser. Our devices create web pages that you access with your browser that give you complete control. No messy installations, no clutter, and smooth control.

Our units are placed near targets for visibility but far enough away that they should not be hit by gunfire. However, SnapShot is for training all levels, including beginners! There is also danger from spall. The protector is a solid piece of steel that surrounds the unit keeping it safe. If there is damage even when using a correctly mounted protection device, we will be glad to replace your unit.

Our units flash lights that the user must see. If you can see a light, a bullet can hit that light. Lights are expensive and instead of replacing them we add mirrors that bounce light but not bullets. If a mirror is hit it is inexpensive and easy to replace: we offer packs of replacement mirrors to keep you going.
